I have issues. No, seriously, I have issues. I'm supposed to be taking it easy, you know, relaxing until EB gets here and trying to get everything set up but noooo. Not me. You could say I have control issues combined with little patience (yes, I know all of you out there with children are snickering to yourselves thinking about how well that's going to work out for me. I'll get the hang of it, right?) but back to my issues. Those 2 quality traits mean that when I have an idea, I want it done ASAP. Or at least start the research. And if you want something from me, sure as heck you need to have your ducks lined up before coming to me or I'm going to roll right over you and do what I want and by golly, you're going to like it. Yes, I just said "by golly."
What does this mean for now? Well, sadly enough, although this is my first baby, I don't think I'll be having a baby shower unless the people that I work with decide to give me one. See, I live on another island, away from my family and in-laws and unfortunately, cannot fly per my doctor's orders. The unfortunate part is that my sister-in-law was going to throw me a shower...except I can't fly...and there's no other way to get there. *Insert crazed pregnancy hormonal crying here.*
Regardless of the possible no shower, I DO need thank you cards for any gifts the EB may receive. So do I rush out to the nearest Target/Wal-Mart/Longs's to buy standard cards? No. Do I even venture online to find that perfect card? Yes. But no vista print or tiny print or shutterfly card will do. I want it personal. To fit in with that poor sad shower theme that, if I were throwing for myself, would totally come in to play. So off to etsy I go. Please note that if you do not know etsy, do not head over there. Really. You'll be hooked and I will not be held responsible for your addiction.
After endless searching, okay, like 3 days because I had to get my husband's opinion, I found a card that could work. If only it were a different animal....if only it were different sports...if only it wasn't an invitation. See what I mean? Issues. In the end though, thanks to an amazing seller with great customer service, I ended up with the perfect card that fits in perfectly with what we are going for. But the next step? That's putting it all together, including the ridiculous envelope project (once again, because I have issues,) but that's another post. For right now, it's time to get excited because not only am I under 100 days to go (WHAT??) but the Baby Expo is this weekend and I have waiting for this ever since the BFP!
Here's the peek at what the card started as:
